The towns of Easton and St. Michaels are located on the eastern side of the Chesapeake Bay, about half an hour southeast of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.
Easton, which is the bigger of the two with a population of over 10,000, has a historic town center with Colonial and Victorian architecture and offers fine dining and shopping opportunities as well as two championship golf courses.
St. Michaels, 10 miles to the west, sits on a long, narrow neck of land along the Miles River. The town is popular among tourists for its small town charm, restaurants and accommodation options. A self-guided walking tour starting at the St. Mary's Square Museum takes visitors through streets lined with houses dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries.
